With extraordinary storytelling through pansori (Korean folksong), instruments, and dance, Washington Sorichung Korean Traditional Music Institute, together with professional guest performers coming all the way from South Korea and out of state, create a vibrant one-of-a-kind show to showcase the traditional sounds and dances of Korea.
The 1st Annual Korean Culture Show will mark the debut of SoriN Corp, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to serve as a cultural bridge for American and Korean communities to gather together, to cultivate and spread interest in the beauty of Korean culture. Inaugurated this year, SoriN Corp will also host other promising collaborative events in the future to further its mission. 2018 will also be dedicated to the celebration of the reopening of the Old Korean Legation.
Korean traditional music & arts competitions are annually held across the U.S. for Korean Americans of 1.5 / 2nd generations of elementary, middle, and high school levels in hopes to discover and wholeheartedly support gifted prospective traditional musicians as well as bring cultural awareness to Korea's outstanding traditional music nationwide. The 1st Annual Korean Culture Show will present a unique experience by gathering the Grand Prize Winners from Washington, New York, and Los Angeles to stage their talent at the Kennedy Center.
