Hello, I am Eun Su Kim, the director of Sorichung Enterprise.
Sorichung Enterprise LLC is a Korean Cultural Agency in the Washington DC area.
Sorichung Enterprise operates the Washington Sorichung Korean Traditional Music Institute. As an educational and artistic organization, we educate people on Korean traditional music, regularly invite Korean traditional artists for workshops, and work with other organizations to create better performances.
Additionally, we operate the Soricha Tea House, Korean Traditional Tea shop and Cultural Theatre to provide Korean traditional tea and a vibrant Korean traditional arts community. However, Washington Sorichung Traditional Music Institute experienced many hardships in expanding in USA. We have created the Soricha Teahouse to overcome problems such as financial problems, cultural clashes, advertising in the US society, etc. We prepare only the top quality Korean teas to provide the authentic Korean tea experience. We believe that Soricha Teahouse, which will serve as a meeting point for many people, will provide funds for Washington Sorichung Korean Traditional Music Institute.
Lastly, Sorichung Enterprise is creating a Korean Traditional Cultural Foundation. Our mission is to create a non-profit foundation that will connect Korea with USA. We plan to systemize Korean Cultural exchanges, create scholarship programs for students, and work with individuals interested in collaboration to expand the program.
Director Eun Su Kim has taught and performed Korean traditional singing, Pansori, with other cultural organizations. With the establishment of Washington Sorichung Korean Traditional Music Institute in 2007 as a starting point, and the establishment of Soricha Teahouse and Theatre, Washington Sorichung is preparing to establish the Sorichung Cultural Foundation.

저희 소리청 엔터프라이즈는 미국 워싱턴 디씨에 위치한 문화 단체입니다.
저희는 교육기관으로 '워싱턴 소리청 한국 음악 교육 연구소' 를 운영하여 다양한 사람들에게 체계화된 전통 음악을 교육하고, 정기적으로 한국에서 전문 강사진을 초대해 워크샾을 실시하고, 타 단체들과 함께 한국 문화 공연을 시도하고 있습니다.
또한 문화 사업으로써 소리차 티앤 티어터 '전통 찻집 & 공연 극장'을 운영함으로써 한국의 전통 차를 미국 사회에 보급, 그리고 활발한 공연문화를 만들어 내기위해 극장을 설립하였습니다. 워싱턴 소리청 한국음악 연구소의 미국 진출은 어려모로 어렴움을 많이 겪었습니다. 재정문제, 문화적 충돌, 미국 사회를 향한 문화 홍보,한국정부의 지원부족 등등의 문제를 해결하기 위하여 소리차 전통 문화공간을 추진하게 되였으며, 이에 맏도록 한국의 정서를 고스란히 느낄수 있도록 한국의 전통 고급 차들만 준비 하였습니다. 아마도 소리차 전통 문화공간은 여러 민족의 만남의 장소가 될것이라 믿습니다.
마지막으로 저희는 소리청 문화 재단으로써 한국의 소리 문화 재단을 설립하고 있습니다. 저희 소리청 문화 재단의 목적은 비영리 단체로써 한국과 미국을 연결하는 중요한 일을 하기 위해 설립하게되였습니다. 저희가 생각하는 소리청 문화 재단의 제1의 목적은 보다 체계화된 문화 교류 지원, 그리고 학생들을 위한 장학사업,이 사회에서 문화 단체가 해야 할 일을 관심 있는 많은 분들과 함께 공동 작업의 목적을 이루기 위해 설립되였습니다.
한국에서 미국 도미후 김은수 대표는 본업인 한국 음악, 판소리를 공연및 교육함으로써 타 문화단체들과 공동 음악 작업을 시도 하였습니다. 2007년도 워싱턴 소리청 한국 음악연구소를 시작으로 2015년 소리차 전통 찻집 & 공연 극장을 설립하였으며, 현재 소리청 문화 재단 설립을 위해 준비 중입니다.
